    Re: Lincoln 430 engine?

If I'm not mistaken, I believe ford used the gm 4 speed hydra/matic trans. behind the 430 in a Lincoln for
a couple of years. I know what everyone is thinking, (gm trans. in a ford car,no way) anything is possible,
as in, Quadra-jet carb. on a 429 scj in 70 or 71. Thats my 2 cents worth. Paul.

      Buick used Ford 3 and 4spds in 67-69 for some bizzare reason. 93-02 V6 F-body's with 5spds use a Ford maincase T5.

        Re: Lincoln 430 engine?

Also some GTO 3 speeds used the Ford trans because it was fully-syno. I was working at a Pontaic dealer at the time(67) and we would go to the Ford garage to get our parts.

          Re: Lincoln 430 engine?

I've heard there's not much speed parts for the big ol Lincoln engines, let alone stock replacement parts. But for free you can't beat it.And if you decide it's not worth it,scrap prices are up right now!

the 430 will not fit in a ranchwagon without several mods. the motor is longer and requires a electric radiator fan or move the radiator forward into the core support. the drivers side exhaust manifold needs to be off a mercury. the passengers side the one from the lincoln will work. the motor mounts don't line up you can modify the frame mounts or make a plate to move the mounts backwards about an inch and a half. the lincoln came with cruise o'maticor or fmx largecase. they made a medium and large case. the ford transmission guy I talked to had never seen a large case. I'm sure you can adapt something else.
