  • Screaming Detroits 72 Bronco build up

I was digging threw my closet at the house and found my pics of the build up of my Bronco I did ten years ago. I bought a 76 Bronco and had been driving it for a couple of years when disaster struck. I was heading to my friends house hit black Ice(so the police report said)and drove of the road into a ditch and then into a ledge, pretty much destroying it. The wreckeage sat behind my house for a while before I found another bronco to build. I was on a very tight budget so it was kinda use what I had to make it work.
This is what the 76 looked like before I hit the ledge

A few shots of the wreakage

I picked up a rotten 72 with enough good parts on it to put one together

It has the original 302, three speed tranny, three inch lift ,33 inch tires, headers, duals and glass packs.

Nice Bronc. By the looks of that windshield, steering wheel and dash, there was one awfully sore dude after that ride. :o

I have always loved the "cracker box" bronco's -- way cool.

great job on the resto - that's a lot of work.
There's always something new to learn.

The green one was a '76, and the red one was a '72, so Greg used the better axles and power steering components that he could salvage from the stronger '76, and transferred it all to the other frame.
Basically, it's the dash and everything from the cowl forward from the donor body, cut off at the rockers near the door post, and the rear of the original grafted together. The pictures don't show how much work it was to do it, or how quickly it was done either.

How many people would have given up on this one?

I always liked those box Bronco's. My cousin had one for a few months before trading it for a 64 Olds F-85.
