  • My 67 Dodge D100 pro tourer.

I guess the title is accurate, LOL I picked the old beast up about 2 years ago, it was just out of Fresno on a farm. Mostly stock runner, rust free, brakes shot, and some Duke boys wheels, LOL At first I was just gonna clean it up, fix the bugs, and drive it. I threw some Torque Thrusts on it and did a disc brake swap up front that ended up published in Classic Trucks magazine (article) Then a member on one of my local message boards posted a "parting out" ad for a '96 Corvette. Needless to say, I now own the front and rear suspension from that Vette and its all going under the 67 on some 20 and 22 inch wheels. Here are some beginning progress pics. Gotta pick up some material and do some serious fabbing. We mocked up the front subframe in wood to make easier measurements. Last pic is a rendering I had done by Colter at www.odellstudios.com.

How I found it on the farm.

    Torque Thrusts and discs.

Mocking up the front cross member.

    The rendering.

Thats it for now, more to come as progress happens.

Got the engine out of the 67 and mocked up the cross member so we can get more accurate measurements. First couple of pics are ride height, fender lip 26" off ground, frame rails 6" off ground. Will have 7" of upward suspension travel, which means with bags deflated, truck WILL lay frame/rocker. I wasnt planning on that, but it worked out perfect. Rest of pics are just pics showing how the cross member (which isnt finalized) will fit and sit in truck.

Pulled the bed and front end off the 67 and got it in the garage where it belongs.

Pulled the cab off the frame. Man, that ####er is nose heavy! Even with the gas tank and fuel. It didnt help the way we did it either. We ran chains from the lower door hinge mounts and the seat belt mounts in the rear to middle of cab and used the cherry picker. I swear, the cab wanted to flip over. Was no fun. But, we have all our fingers and toes and no damage to cab! Enjoy!!!! LOL

Cool project! I have never been too fond of that style of Dodge truck but yours has "the look".

Haven't seen the name in quite a while...Dodge looks good.

I took a steaming dump on the Wangers '69 GTO Pro Touring project because it was lame copycat stuff.

This however is THE BALLS. Awesome! An "off brand" truck, a ton of cool engineering and man, those wheels are verging on gearhead pornography.

                  I thoroughly dig!

That's a great project you've got underway there. Sadly, just don't find farmyard vehicles like that in decent condition up here anymore.

                    Keep us posted.

That is one sweet ride. Looking forward to progress reports.

                            Go Brad Go!
Nice truck, have the copy of the disc brake swap. I have had my early 65 D100 almost 14 years , I've done the body off thing once ,it got wrecked in the front, and finally found the right front sheet metal. Dodge's are nice trucks, often overlooked, but they have a very nice stying , and a bit of Dare 2 Be Diff. You can always get a thumb up even from the Chevy guys.

Great project! My great-uncle had a Dodge of that vintage, and I swear it had the shifter on the dash. Did I dream that??
I helped haul many a load of hay in that truck.
