Hey Ron, any progress on the COE? I'm wanting to see how you do the 'bags. I've got an Eldo in a 61 Econoline pickup in progress as we speak... Thanks, Paul

Ok, so I thought I'd seen pics recently (everythings relative) of this truck slightly more done. Am I wrong? this thing very much intrigues me.

Started back up on this one again now that I figured out how to open the door to the shop recently...

So the plan now is to use AWD Astro van front torsion bars which are an amazing 36" short with what is pictured a Blazer/Bravada torsion crossmember. However the internet I searched didnt mention two different sized hex on the torsions...going tomorrow to get a Tahoe crossmember to fit the rear of the bars.

Still goin to run bigger air bags on top of upper arms for load adjustment and stance though.

Anybody else see the potential for under floor storage here???

I bought this one recently as a driver and cant wait to park the two next to each other. I think after the 2" chop it should come to about the top of the turn signal!

          Hope to keep at it.

                  Removed firewall for new one.

Once the firewall is in place, I can build the front mounts for the cab to mount it where it needs to be. The welded doors are basically holding the cab in place as well as struts inside the cab. Yes those are trailer fenders for inner fenderwells.

So the quick run to the picnpull for the new torsion crossmember was actually back n forth four days to get this basturd out with hand tools only per yard rules...sucked.
Here you can see the difference between the Blazer and the Tahoe torsion crossmember. Tahoes bigger and larger 1 3/4" keys to fit my Astro bars.

As you can see I had to cut the thing out, but it was too wide anyway. Now shortened and in place.

Gonna make the mounts for the arms next.

Supporting her own weight now. With the box going on and the adjustability of the torsions plus air bags I think its gonna be perfect.

Might go with artillery wheel now if I can get 15 x 12 or 14.

Pure Sweetness. Those wheels would look perfect as well......completely Art Deco too.

Its starting to come together! YeeHaw!

(I wonder how many Tahoe owners realize their trucks use Astro parts?)
Of all the paths you take in life - make sure a few of them are dirt.

Cab now mounted. A Dodge truck gave up its radiator support mounts at the picnpull..steering and brake booster next.

The steeringbox creates an offset in the mount on driver side. Going today to see if I can get the joint I need for the steering shaft. Believe it or not, this is the same angles the Astro uses only longer distance. Shortening the Astro column gives me the correct angle out.
