    I bet I spent almost $250 on stuff like that :o ??? :P
IT SURE ADDS UP QUICK, DOESN'T IT? I still need the door and trunk weatherstrips, but I need the headliner finished and the engine machine work completed more at this point. Hope to get the headliner done next, which will allow installation of all the glass and interior trim for me.

        Looking good dude!
I am certain I will eventually go that route-as amazing as the all the metal work and body paint turned out, they did the hood last and the shop owner was all over the paint staff to get it done and out of there, in spite of me making it clear I was not in any hurry and they could take thier time. The UNFORTUNATE result of that is, the new glass hood did not get the prep and attention the rest of thcar did, and anyone who had worked with new glas knows it need quite a bit of attention to turn out nice. soooo the paint on the hood (actually the surface UNDER the paint) is less than smooth and the hood, overall, is a bit of a disappointment. It is easy enough to take the hood off and get it redone, so after some time like this, i suspect that will happen and stripes will likely appear then, if jsut to change its character, after I have used a while in the all green color.

thanks for the props, guys, helps keep me going when I get burned out!

You know, your misery inadvertantly makes me feel better... thanks . I put the scoop on my Buick and it turned out terrible; nice to know that even the pros have less than stellar results.... I'm planning on fixing the same way you are, make it black. The nice bonus of flat black is no hood glare (and it's pretty bright on my car).

How many of us here have the habit of looking at another persons ride or project and interject with what you would do if it was yours......I am having a hard time finding what I would do differently with this.....but after drooling over the light green paint for the last 10 minutes...if figured out what I would change...besides owners....I would be rocking body color steel rims and dog dish caps....cuz that grandma green and all the trim screams sleeper to me....of course they would be custom width out back so the slicks could be retained.....

What a bitchin car......I am dreaming about paintint the fury green after seeing your paint.....

Fiberglass is TOUGH to work with, period. My painter certainly did his job, as the paint is great, but the hood shold have spent a day in a bodymans stall. aftermarket hoods and scoops in general are CRAP, the us bodysource hood on my old Buick was terrible. the Crites hood on the Ford was actually not too bad, and a bodyman could have made it nice pretty easily, as we will see one day in the future.

as luck would have it for me, those welds are my absolute favorite wheels, as they came on that car. The period wheels that rank 2nd for me, would be american torque thrusts in flat grey, and i will undoubtedly eventually get a set of them, some day after it runs and drives and makes some passes. I like the steelie/dish look on some cars, but it is everywhere these days. and if it's everywhere, you may as well have those old common aftermarket wheels!! however, if I win the lottery i might have a set of steelies too!

Is there something missing off your A pillars besides the trim? It looks really thin.

yesiree, really good progress now! unfortunately, as I moved onto my next contribtuion, I discovered the winder felts I ordered came for a hardtop and will not work, so another phone call and parts exchange via ups begins tomorrow. We can, however, install the rrear glass and new windshield and the outside trim around them. And as soon as some more money comes my way, I can order some gauges andput the dash back together!

WOW-another month slides by with no visible progress.....Actually, though, there is some progress, in spite of family camping vacations, work, rental house water issues, etc etc. Windshiled is ordered and rear glass and w/s and trim should start going back on in sept, as soon as my glass guy gets some time. I managed to procure a nice set of original, correct factory (not cheap chinese repop) chrome valve covers with power by ford on them, from an original car, waiting for them to arrive. Also, the Machine shop reports short block is done, bring us more parts, so before this week is out I will haul all this booty over there and give em a little more green stuff to keep going
