      totally excellent!

Will they be painting the fenders and hood off the car?

Man - someday I'll have my '69 in that condition - I think I will have Rhonda's cousin paint it for me - he owns a body shop a couple hours away and has a full on paint booth with bake lamps.

This car is going to be so freaking cool! Let me know what FE parts you're looking for - I'm going to have some extras....

HELP! NEED A FE 428 BLOCK!!

Machine shop reports my block is cracked and unrepairable. I am in socal and need a 428 block, ?tight? .030 for my current pistons, or less back to std bore. DOES NOT need to be any special date code, passenger car block is fine, unless you happen to have a real 67 427 fairlane coded block you are just dying to GIVE me!! LOL [email protected]

I have a 428 block, but it's at .030 now and will likely clean up at .040 or less...
              it's a 67 date code, c scratch on back, 3 rib mains....

Re: 67 Fairlane Sedan project begins!

nothing exciting to report-bodyshop got busy, with real paying ins company work. Body is in primer, waiting for final blocking and color. have not as yet made a decision on my block, got a couple of offers I am contemplating, but no real progress there either. spent the past 2 weeks getting ready for, traveling to, helping at and coming home from the mopars in vegas dealio.
My friend with the Hemi Challenger had some serious health scares recently and was considering calling the whole thing off. I am glad we could pull it off, I had a great time and so did he. my technician is quitting after I have invested a years training in him, so i am back to working my business the hard way, training a replacement and all that goes with that, so not having a block or a car to put it in right now is working out ok.

                      NICE!

is it an A block? are you going to stroke this thing?

Glad to hear you found a block locally - I've watched some go for crazy money on ebay recently - I only wonder what they'll be priced like at columbus this weekend.

fortunately, I ned no specific date code (as you already know) and this block is a 71 warranty service block by all appearances. the crazy money blocks on ebay are generally cj date coded, and this guy was sure he was going to get in on that when he had this block cleaned and prepped. shop told him no way, your block is a nice condition, nothing special block that is now nice and clean and checked out. after having a run at craigslist at 1200 and no takers, he dropped it to 600 with a set of arp main studs installed, and I wa shappy to have it. the clean and mag casting flash clean out he already paid for ran him 200 that I now do not have to do so it's a good deal all around.
