The car was sold in northwest Nebraska and lived its life in Arizona also,so there was minimal rust.Lots of gravel in the little nooks and crannies, but that was an easy fix.I will get more pics as progress moves along.Sorry for the out of order pics, this was my first time cut and pasting pics for a thread.

Soda blast, the guy comes right to the house and it takes about 4 hours, cost about 1100.Worth every penny.

Soda blasting also leaves a protective film on the metal that wont let the metal rust for a long time. When the soda explodes on the surface it just turns every piece of paint into micro pieces.great stuff, you just have to be careful of getting it all washed down after D/A sanding,as it is a corrosive when mixed with water.

Those are really cool cars. Did that soda blasting hurt the glass at all? I would think the overspray would cloud the glass.

Last time I pulled a 'Vair engine it spilled it's coolant EVERYWHERE. The guy working with me said it would just blow away, but I wasn't so sure. Didn't need floor dry, though.

Great father and son project - hope you're both having fun.

We covered the whole floor with coolant Dan,dried up real fast though.LOL

Nas,the soda blast does not bother glass or trim,if it hits old stainless, you just have to buff it out.
