That it is sir... you should use a sharpie and date code that for posterity. ;)
LOL, I was famous for dating things at my old job.

don't worry , you will have more
one time I tried to save an 88 block - spent 50 bucks to get it agitated real clean and pretty
ran a magnaflux over the valley
found about 400 cracks that were not leaking water
try using some por 15 or epoxy paint like glue

They didn't last long around here either. I think every Suburban of that vintage around here was painted that color combo, and every one of them peeled and rusted like that.

Not bad for free though, and I love that block repair!

I was thinking of adding a piece of sheet metal over it to give it some tensile strength. I guess leaving a shop light near it overnight would help it set...it's generally in the 50s in my shop in winter. Spoiled, arent' I?

A lite touch with the grinder to expose it a bit better, some brake clean to really clean up the area, spash some JB on there. Got to be nice and dry, JB doesn't like coolant until it's solid. ;D

I had a 318 with a two inch long crack in the lifter gallery. Fixed it with JB weld and it ran forever-never leaked. Not much work, not out much if it fails.

I call any fix that comes in a bottle "snake oil", some of it does work.

It had to get smogged in Tucson, where it lived most of it's life, but here in small town Sierra Vista we don't have smog because they don't test cars. (or they don't test cars because we don't have smog, I forget which it is)

I'll keep an eye on it, and hope for the best...and yeah, I was considering some type of snake oil to help it live a bit longer. I know it's a gonna get worse one of these days though
