            • Made a discovery - - our van white is decidedly different from the Jeep Gel-coat white. Not surprised, but WAS hoping it was closer.

After trying many other chemicals, it seems that straight Acetone is the only thing that softens whatever adhesive AMC used on the Renegade decals in 1978.

Lay industrial strength shop towel on hood, soak towel with acetone, go fart around with something else for 5 minutes, then remove towel and quickly use a razor scraper to remove glue.

Move towel over one towel-length and repeat.

Spend this 5 minutes figuring out how to dispose of huge booger-like sticky blob of adhesive and clean hands and scraper for next go-around.

I did the sticker removal deal after the sun went down. Used the precious daylight hour after work to pull donor jeep chassis out and pick a few more parts from it.

This time it surrendered the rear bumper-hitch thingy.

And fuel lines. All three. Feed, return, and charcoal vapor recovery.

              • Scored one and one-half of a set of factory rocker trim pieces for the CJ7. Working on swapping transfer cases.......the original one had bum limited slip in the front-to-rear differential. Parts frame had one that is within spec. That parts frame has sure been useful.

                    • Stiney is Stiney... Stiney has other obligations so we enjoy Stiney while he's focused on things we care about and tolerate Stiney focusing on important stuff that doesn't concern us....

                      • What in the sam houston is going on with all the photo sharing sites? is it a conspiracy? I look forward to seeing pictures of this rig with the boys smiling ear to ear!

                        • Stiney is becoming Amish. No pictures, he had to get permission to even work on cars, but he drives a horse and buggy.

                            • Its skiing season. Got both boys in downhill slalom race school.

Also been on a selling spree. Building up a fund for a new barn roof - tired of chasing small leaks.

Last night sold the twin buggy hauler trailer. Met the buyer in Fort Wayne IN at 9:00 pm. They made it home to Green Bay WI at 5:00 am. New owners are reportedly very happy with its behavior on a 8 hr tow. I like happy buyers.

So long old girl, its been real fun!

                              • I want/need one of these JimGlo Ego trailers badly. Just need to figure out how to get one from AZ or TX to Ohio-ish.
