I'd love to see it lol. I don't think it would actually be possible for it to get to a combustion stage, but it would definitely be an interesting experiment. Some sort of crankshaft attached to a motor compressing & extending a shock hundreds of times..... -
I had a problem today - stupid lady cut me off but didn't acknowledge my approximation of the number of bastard children she has... so I fixed the horn

so that's pretty much a wrap on this project - it is now at the "update like I do the H3" stage
So what's next? I was hoping that my CR500 sold, but it didn't (not really sad about this) so I am not starting the C10 build. I have a trailer build coming - 2 actually if you include the car trailer. I also have the Fiat (still not excited about it).... so I guess I'm going to have to decide what to do about the Sledanette.

nuts n bolts
outside of going to a car show, I didn't do much today... but
Clutch, I'm still not there, but I'm closer I replaced the 1" master cylinder with a 3/4" long travel then moved the slave cylinder closer to the pivot point. It's a bit easier to push, but more importantly it fully disengages - but it's still not perfect and I want perfect so I'll keep working on this

under this seat is the fuel sender

and there it is

new one

installed, and for the record those are fuel tank zip screws

and the gauge works - which is a nice feature.Doing it all wrong since 1966Comment

50% of the lights are here

but first... shock leak
unload the shock

fortunately, I don't need to get it completely off the ground

back to the lights... here?

maybe further up the post?

so here's the deal - putting the at the top is simply a good way to get them knocked off by branches. So I haven't decided - I've been considering putting them on a swivel base; but for now, solid base....
and why HID - brighter for the energy consumed. LEDs are too blue, which is nice in the winter but miserable when you're trying to see on a dark road. Halogens take too much energy and aren't as bright as HID. HID take time to light and require more space since they have a ballast to ignite.Doing it all wrong since 1966Comment

LED is even worse because it's blue - so it tends to fuzz into the dark of the road surface... on snow, it's amazing, but anywhere else... meh
It's funny, I have a really nice press brake, but since it's not easy to reset the bed - I use my cheapy, press brake for simple stuff
like this

let there be light

and it was good
2 down 2 to go

but first they need to arrive

Your fabrication skills continue to inspire, along with your efficiency and capacity to complete things in a very short period of time (considering you still have a day job)
Well done indeed.
I keep going back and forth - but I think the bang for the buck is still with the $399 HF (or similar) 30" shear/brake/roll - seems like that would give a DIY home shop guy most of what he'd need to do a whole lot of stuff. I'm not sure the JET machine is worth almost double the price, I'm sure it's better, but better enough to be worth it. Woodward is in between. Seems you never find this sort of thing used. There's always something new to learn.Comment
