    95.5"?

Wow. 4.5" shorter wheelbase than my green sandrail.....but you have that front overhang issue that I don't have to contend with.

Of all the paths you take in life - make sure a few of them are dirt.

Nice looking welds - there's more metal in that differential cover than in most Kia's - well done indeed. Is that filler / bung an off the shelf item? I like that set up allot.
As with all your builds - this thing is going to be really nice - I like the idea of a built in toolbox in the seat platform. Why all the round tubing under the passenger seat?
There's always something new to learn.

          swap meet buy,

air shocks I won't use under the '40 (but use for test fitting and trading purposes)... they were too cheap to pass up

          back stock

          headlights with integral signals

          I bought two EFI
          one is a commander 950

it came with a throttle body... seems like overkill, for this system, but for the price (less than the wiring harness cost).. how could I go wrong? came with 2 fuel pumps too

the other system was less than the price of a fuel pump (which it came with a new one)

the sensors alone made this a good deal

and I have another small project... this is for the '40... on-board air. I helped a friend install one in the mid-80s, and I loved how much air it put out.... anyway, this was $10.

          in other news, brackets arrived

Is that a YORK compressor? We had one converted from air conditioning to air compressing on a '70 Wagoneer (with Buick 350), worked awesomely.

AC compressor off a Mopar? Used 2 in my time.. Just flip a switch and idle away!
They like smaller rather than larger ranks.. 10 ishy gallons vs 30-40.
Semi air brake tanks work good!

biggest issue with the pump is I need a serpentine pulley... the rest should be easy to set up

the only real issue I've heard with these is they will burn up eventually due to lack of oil... which has me thinking I should put an oiler on the intake side, good idea on the tank. I was slightly miffed, there was a guy selling a small viair tank for $10 - but wasn't there... I'd have used that (it was aluminum)... that said, I got some really good deals on things I needed.

                      yupdate

                      ride height

here's where things started... note the spring is upside down

after a bunch of cutting and changing, here's where it ended

I still have to put a plate under the bottom of the spring, but that adjusts/fine tunes ride height, and until the front is completely done... I don't know exactly what that is.

and I tacked the brakes on

                      flex

                      now to the front

for about 10 reasons, these brackets don't work

so time to build some hoops

kind of sort of where it needs to be

                      this is round 2

                      mounting tubes

round 3 (note the kick in on the bottoms)

                      tight, yet plenty of clearance

I have a friend who works at a laser cutting shop - I had him cut these out for me

an entire sheet of them.... quite handy

there we go, using the air shock as mockup

and someone needs to mention to the seller that 8" is not 12" .... they're 8" air shocks (which I figured when I bought them, but for the price, why argue?)

If you can leave two black stripes from the exit of one corner to the braking zone of the next, you have enough horsepower. - Mark Donohue

I'll second that sentiment Joe. Great to see it sprung and on its own.

Oh, and I've said it before drat you SuperBuickGuy and your powers of project misdirection! After 16 years this got back on the burners.

                              Tanks!

On a slightly related note............if you pressure wash first, and let some water drip on your shop concrete floor - cleaning up the spilled ATF is much much easier as it floats on top of the water.

                              Just FYI.
