      back on the '40
first step, mount the taller springs

and I still can't convince the spring/coil-over dealer to send me 150# springs... I know he's trying to help and I'm trying to maintain my sense of humor.

      onto the rear swing-carriers

I was going to go with 1 pivot, but the tire is a monster that is going to be on there, add 10 or 15 gallons of fuel, a cooler and a hi-lift jack - and hanging off one would really stress the mounts and the poor sap who has to push it uphill to lock it or try to hold it open when the vehicle is aiming downhill.... so two it is.

ever look at a mounting spot and think "that's way too good"... yeah, this is protected yet accessible... but before I make it permanent I'm going to consider it a bit more

air filter then oil/water separator. York compressors have an issue of adding a lot of oil to the compressed air. I've solved, what I hope, is most of the oil issue, but the air needs to be filtered of water and oil so there it is... I will probably add a regulator, just in-case my compressor is an overachiever, however, I also have a safety valve on the tank so the theory is it will be fine without - which doubles down on the "should" portion of the sentence... I seem to be quite adept at eliciting "I've never seen that before" from the experts....

So at 5:30 tonight, I hear a knock at my front door. I don't see anyone in our roundabout, but I see lights at the end of my drive. I think "hmm, odd" - so I grab a convenient Mastiff and go see what's up... I open the door and there a Somalia, probably about 5-2, street clothes, maybe weights 120.... and I have a Mastiff who wants to see who it is.

The guy is carrying this package and said "I have a package.... holyschmidtthat'sabigdogishefriendly" "no" I respond.... the poor guy goes from about 100 words per minute to at least 300 with complete pie-eye.

                        the package.... I'm suspicious

ImfromDHLIhaveapackageforyouandIneedasignature!!!! "oh", and Buick slips past me to see what tasty treat I have for him... I grab his collar but I don't pull him back....

Then I remember, oh I have a package coming in from Hong Kong... the keyless ignition.... I hesitate a second, give the guy a look like "do I set the dog on your or not?" I can honestly see him revving his engine to get the heck out of there if I decide dog.

I say, "okay, where?" then sign....

and the delivery guy vanished.... all that was left was a puff of smoke where he had been standing. If anyone delivers packages, pull up to the front door.... I was debating gun or dog.... I think the poor delivery guy may still be drying his pants and performing CPR on himself.

oh, and the other side of the package
seems I wasn't the only one suspicious of all this

                        and what's inside

Anyway, fun aside... I got more done.

                        time to fix a gap

                        better, but not good enough

hmmm, I got a bit zealous with the hammer

no big deal, I have heat and a hammer - it is fixed

                        temporary latches

                        onto the carrier

                        2x3x1/4 tube

hmmm, some adjustment is going to have to happen

2 pits, don't hold them back.. Front door is all glass except a foot wide frame.. People stay 10 feet from the door!
2 pistols and 2 shotguns pretty close to me.. Plus I always look mad..
Love how the guy talks fast.. That would be lip flaps to me, be hard to tell if quivering or talking..

Bob - Are accents an issue for you? Seems like it might mess up lip reading. And no - you look like Santa! At least to me.

I've done the "tough dog" thing too - with a Standard Poodle. Some folks don't know they are love sponges so it was effective. That was with Beaux, our old while one - though I DO think he would have defended the Mom Person. Kingsford - not so much but he might lick them to death.

my dear, departed yellow lab, Rue.... sweetest dog ever, loved pretty much everyone; but I did see her once where she was concerned and she was anything but a sweetheart. Dogs know who to trust, it's why I went out - Buick seemed fine with whoever it was.
