so it runs again, but an injector isn't working right... so the saga continues...
in other news, the keyless ignition is going on something else. It has two flaws that I think are not appropriate for a 4x4: it has a delay between on and off, and you need to have your foot on the brake to turn the vehicle on and off.... maybe I'll put it on the fiat... I ordered a stock switch and may have some hole-repair work to do (yuck, means painting) but the bright side is there will be one key for the door locks and ignition and one for the lock boxes.... and no, I'm not doing a same-key for both - who knows, I may need a valet to park it and this will keep him out of the boxes ;)

You could aways put something else in the whole. Could even be a kill switch, bottom that must be pushed to start, or a cigarette lighter that when pushed allows / keeps from starting. Or just add another 12v port.

I've ordered a FJ40 switch - I wish I could find an old-truck (like 1 1/2 ton) ignition switch - but those are rarer then hens teeth .... no big deal, really, just time consuming.

Interesting. Many moons ago when I was working for a heavy equipment company there was a generic ignition switch (Leece-Neville IIRC) they we used on pretty much all of our big stuff after the OEM switch failed or the operator lost the key or whatever. I installed a number of them. Maybe those are no longer available - it's been a LONG time since I messed with one.

Got a picture of this 1 1/2 ton switch?

I'm betting it is still available in the Agricultural arena.....but I gotta know what I'm looking for.

It's not that hard to find them. You have to look up Ford P-Chassis, 8000, 9000, (Old) Chevy C50, C60, C70, GMC 7000, GMC Brigadier, Kenworth, Peterbilt...

                Example: Kenworth ignition switch... http://www.ebay.com/itm/USED-KENWORT...-/281986238971

Leece Neville (established in Cleveland Ohio) is now Prestolite Corp. They still make most of that stuff...

uh, no.... most ignition switches have a 3/4" hole requirement. The one I'm was looking for has at least a 1 1/4" hole requirement.... thanks though

                      You said 1 1/2 ton, that's what 1 1/2 tons (medium/heavy duty) use.
Heavy equipment use the same switches.
3/4 has been the standard size for 60yrs?

Pretty good show, did not care for the Beverly Hills part. The 44 did some strange movements under hard braking, wheels going every which way, at one point I am not sure if the frame was not flexing...

so it runs fine, but still the oil rings aren't sealing... ugh
other news - the keyless ignition is back in backstock for some other project

and had a few minutes to work on the box support... yeah, it's crooked, it won't be when its done

                                onward with the console

                                framework

                                test fit

                                so far so good

I'm going to have to get creative for the cup holder

                                no cupholder... creative, no?

                                and painted....

tomorrow wire the stereo and start and the rear box(es)...I know it seems like I'm delaying, but a lot of this stuff needs to be done so I can finish wiring.... I also need to steal the HAM radio out of my H3 and find a place for it in here.
