Dogs... Can be so aggravating yet so comforting.. Have always had dogs, just good ones in the last 35-40 years..
Some better than others.. All weaseled themselves into my heart..
with the bloodhounds' loose skin, I get my wife laughing pretty good when I pull back on their head-skin and say "happy bloodhound" and then push the skin forward "mad bloodhound"
as her face was down, that's mad bloodhound
Dan,,, Mutt is listening... on the plus side, cheapa$$ Chevrolets are inexpensive to repair... have had a hex drive key for a Ford oil pump fall off while installing... Mopar ignitions have given me fits...to each his own...as far as the facial expressions of a dog go... Lugnut has more than we've seen in all of our other dogs we have ever had combined...one thing's for sure though, motor be damned, the dog will make you feel better about it!

Patrick & Tammy - Long Haulin' 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014...Addicting isn't it...??
well to be honest, Dan, I've never had it happen to a Mercedes, Ford, Mopar, Ferrari, Citroen, or even to Datsun. Of course, I haven't ever owned one of those - but I'm still batting 1000 on all of those (and many more)
so I pulled the pan, and number 1 and 2 were toast
then I pulled this
and it's missing the washers on the bypass.... which explains everything I saw up to the failure. I'd been having trouble with (I thought) the dakota digital dash - it would show oil pressure for a bit, then it'd dive and say there was no oil pressure. That simply didn't make sense because I'd never hear the lifters rattling - I may have heard that today.... but too late.
to be continued..... I'm thinking simply buying a replacement, Tahoe short block... however, I may build another 350 or 383.... dunno yet
