  • I'll get to the sliders tomorrow.... I'm actually running out of other things to do; but it may be nice tomorrow and I need to do another shakedown run - so tonight's episode is titled "I wish I had a slip roll"

for the record, this won't work with the 350... weird, no? After all, the motor removed and the motor placed are both GM motors....

it's solidly in place, it will be pretty later

      not the tasty kind

      hmmm

      maybe?

all that, and I may simply surround the original steps with tube....

I dunno, I'll work on it tomorrow and come up with something...

                  • I figured I'd wait a day or two to update since this is a tedious and often interrupted job....
time for some chopping and welding

                    non slip application

                    non slip applied

so there's a problem with attaching to the body. It's got nice pads to limit vibration, but if I bolt solid to the body I'll have no end of trouble, and worse, squeeks

                    answer is rubber hose

and a bit of paint to limit rust

exhaust ... I seriously considered square exhaust as a nod to someone (Chad) who swore that it made a performance difference, but alas, I have an ARB airbag and it inflates a lot quicker off the exhaust - so I had to save the joke for later

to quiet it down a bit, I reduced the interior volume, we'll see if it's enough tomorrow

end of week, pretty much done pictures

and now the batteries are held in place and the cover is held down.

                              • the Land Rover was done. Key point being it's no longer where I can work on it again. To me, finished is when I drive it regularly. That is where it's at now... there's things left to do, upgrades I'd like to make, but it's dangerously close to its first date with mud - and it's going to happen soon. Pictures will happen.
