  • 1965 Mercury Comet Caliente

    Hello everyone!

We, at Craftsman, are excited to be part of your forum because like you, we are car lovers. We also wanted to let you know about our current "Restoration Rollout" that's happening. We're working with Hot Rod Chassis on a modified restoration of a 1965 Mercury Comet Caliente to bring it back to life and get it back on the track racing. You can watch and follow along with the project here: https://club.craftsman.com/community/#!/madetorace.

Are any of you currently working on a restoration of a muscle or vintage car? What inspired you to do this?

Thank you for letting us into your community. We look forward to getting to know you and participating more.

    Dear Mr. FNG Craftsman,

A better question might be who is NOT working on a muscle/classic/vintage car. You should be well financed for your endeavor, as many of us have exchanged much hard earned cash in exchange for your roll-away chests and "tools".

I'll end this conversation now before I'm branded as some "corporate" stooge working for the "man", but good luck with your Comet.

(PS - it should have a chromed straight axle on leafs and a Hilborne injected FE. With a toploader)

I gave up on Craftsman tools a long time ago...
I've repeatedly tried to exchange broken tools at our local Sears hardware..
They never have replacements, and the clerk(s) claim they can't order them.

Cool project though.. I like the Hilborn/straight axle idea too.

That seems to be the trend in my area too. It's nice to be friends with a Snap-On man.

No doubt about that, plus a cousin's daughter married a Snap-On man!
