    78 malibu the " high school hot rod "

    Here's my newest project, a friend has had this sitting for about 4 years and he decided that
    He couldn't find the time or desire to build it so i bought it cheap.



    And the reason he did nothing with it.

    The motor is out of a 87 suburban and it still turns over by hand so I'm hoping it's still good.
    My other malibu has the big block and cage so the plan for this one is get it running and driving for cheap and make a nice daily driver out of this one.

    The price break down so far
    78 malibu with pile of parts $1200
    I hope to get it moving under it's own power for another 300$.
    Obviously I'm going to be robbing all of my friends garages since i am basically starting from scratch.
    I sold almost all of my small block stuff off years ago.

        So after a little delay with a heart catherazation i'm back on the project.
        I was just throwing the car together but sometimes project creep rears it's ugly head.
        I ended up with a new pair of vortec heads and an edelbrock intake for $200 so i had to do it.

            Head and intake gaskets donated by friends.
            New water pump and timing chain 42.56
            Spray paint 13.00
            Grand total 1455.56

                      Ok back at it again, i would be done if i was healthy. I got the power washer out and evicted the family of spiders and mud daubers that have taken up residence.

                          Went digging in the spare parts bin. I don't know what they fit but i now know that they don't fit a g body. When is the last time you saw cragar hedears?
