I'd love to find an 80's 2.2L turbo mopar! But we are currently concentrating on finding a late 90's Buick/Pontiac with the supercharged 3.8L. Gut it and try to increase the boost somehow.

Sweet. Salt belt states have the advantage of free swiss cheese weight reduction though! Craigslist no title cars, CA cars that won't pass smog. Best part being it doesn't matter if you break it.

too bad it is so far away... i have a 97 grand prix (3.8 n/a , has been through 2 of my kids, sitting there waiting for the 3rd) that has the optional factory installed light weight rockers/doors. runs like a damn top.... also a full nitrous bottle, a whole bunch of jets ans a couple of extra solenoids.... hmmmmmmm spray and pray baby!!!!

BUDGET
1. You get $500 to buy, build, and modify your crap. Think it doesn't seem like enough money...you're right. No sane person should attempt this.
2. The $500 includes FAIR MARKET VALUE of the car and it's components. Just because you have a pair of turbos lying around your shop, does not mean they are free. Have a car that you paid $2500 for back in 2007? Sorry. Unless that car has depreciated into a $500 piece of junk, it doesn't count. Remember the part about this being fun and challenging? Quit trying to cheat!
3. Anything that adds to the performance/aesthetics of your car counts in the budget.
4. Things not included in the budget - SAFETY RELATED ITEMS (roll bar/roll cage, driver apparel, street tires, steel/alloy wheels, hoses, oil/transmission/fuel lines, filters, mounts and brackets, battery cables, battery, glass windows, shifter, seat, fuel tank, oil retention device) The price of fuel and nitrous oxide WILL NOT be figured into the budget.
5. A panel of "expert" and "unbiased" judges will inspect every car prior to the race for overall level of limit pushing. If your car is ruled to be exceeding the budget, you will have the following options: A. Take your junk home B. Take your junk to the pits and attempt to remove items to get under budget (must be done before tech ends) C. Throw a temper tantrum and have your junk donated to charity on your behalf.

Can you sell stuff off the car to recoupe cash. Like lights, fenders, hood, bumpers, inside crap. Does it have to have all the glass, that stuff is heavy?
