Wiring is 99% done. The last 2 things I need to connect is a ground for the coil igniter and the tach lead from the igniter to the dash.

Once those are done, I can connect the battery and proceed to melt everything down. Yea!

A lot of work for something that goes right here.

I don't think one is necessary because it can't be accessed once it is in the car. The one I am printing right now just encloses and protects the wiring.

Get another connector and put it above so it can still be unplugged?

And because I can't seem to leave anything alone....
I made a low profile DB37 connector, which stayed on for less than 48 hours because I decided it was dumb to have wires come out only to go back in. So a new one is printing that routes the wiring directly back inside the case. I would be a terrible product developer. Haha.

Printed the lid, but screwed up and used an old model to start with so it was not tall enough. Great. Printed a spacer to glue on and that worked, but Click image for larger version

Version 4.0 hot off the press. The top section is currently printing... If I don't run out of filament. Yikes.

This is ABS+, whatever that means. I really never noticed a smell with it. It looked great while it was still on the bed, but quickly started cracking afterwards.

I printed version 4.0 in PLA and it turned out pretty good.

I'm by no means a 3D print expert, but when I get crappy layer adhesion like that, especially with ABS or PETG it usually means my nozzle temp isn't high enough. I hate ABS tbh, it's warpy and smelly and overall usually not worth the trouble.

It went together like I planned but does not fit the car like I planned. I took it all apart and better analyzed how it needs to fit up in the kick panel. This was just a skosh too wide to fit comfortably, but if it was turned 90 degrees, it fits up in there nice. So a version 3.0 or 4.0 or whatever I am on now, is in the works.

Still learning abs. This thing turned out ok, but has checks all over it where it had poor layer adhesion. I actually broke it in half trying to get the support out. I glued it back together just to test fit it. I am going to print it from PLA for the final version.
