idk, the rack is laying on the floor right now. I am going to give everything a good looking over later today.

Took a couple of pics at lunch today. I really want to use the 4.6L intake elbow etc. (at least initially) It will need a spacer/adapter to raise it above the fuel rails and valve covers. The stock 460 upper intake is too tall for this and I just plain don't like it.

More mockup. I sure feel like it should move back and drop down. There is plenty of pan to rack clearance

I didn't figure it was very high. I think it is a 65mm throttle body or something like that. That will be one area I can improve upon once this thing is up and running.

Tonight's job was to put the 1.5" kmember spacers in that I used in the 83GT. There was just one problem. The spacers were still in the 83GT.... Sort of. Back when we installed the turbo stuff on the 83GT we pulled the spacers out and just flipped them under the kmember mounts so we would not have to get new bolts. It was just a quick fix at the time. A plan was hatched to just remove a few at a time and use the 98 bolts on the 83 and the 83 bolts and spacers on the 98.
We hooked the hoist to the 460 and took the weight off the k. Then we jacked the front of the 83 up and proceeded to swap bolts a few at a time. It worked pretty good with only a few minor issues, like the down pipe being completely in the way. No biggie though.
The mission was complete and we set the 460 back down. It fits so much better now. I still think it should move back about 1" and it will be awesome.

Next obstacle I need to overcome is the front engine accessory drive. The distance that the serpentine belt is off the front of the motor plate is completely driven by the lower pulley position. A stock 460 6 rib lower pulley throws the belt way out there. I need a pulley that is flush with the face of the harmonic balancer or even one that will slip partially over the balancer. Every 1/2 or 3/4" matters to make this all fit together like I want.
Pulleys are hard to research! I did find a Dorman 594530 pulley for a 4.3L V6 that is large enough to be mounted backwards and will partially cover the balancer. It will need some modification to work, but that is pretty much a given in this situation. I am going to continue looking for the 'perfect' one, but I am not holding my breath that I will find a bolt-on solution.

New ball joints are now pressed into the lower control arms.
Once I fiddle with the motor mounts, I can put the front suspension back together.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

I went ahead and ordered the pulley. It arrived on Tuesday. I had to have it in hand in order to proceed with figuring out the accessory drive.
Running total: $1300 (car,pistons/rings,kmember,engine mounts,pulley)
Now that my engine stand does not have Judd's 5.2L Magnum hanging off it, I can pull this 460 back out so I can modify the engine mounts and build the mounts for the AC and PS.

Engine is back out and hanging on the stand.
Engine mounts will be the first thing I play with. They need to move forward on the block approx 3/4 to 1 inch.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

Engine mounts are modified. Of the three holes, two fell where I could just redrill the plate and one fell right in between or right at the edge of the slots. For those, I welded a square of 3/16" steel centered on where the hole should be. Then I just drilled a new hole.
Once that was successfully completed, I started looking at the pulley. I popped the crank bolt out and used it to center up the pulley. One pulley hole will line up with one balancer hole. A 1.5" spacer/adapter would be perfect and I am happy with how far the pulley plane is off the motor plate. I will need to swap the straight water pump hose connector for a 45° version.

I think I am going to make a pulley spacer out of 3" x 3" x 1.5" aluminum plate. This will allow me to drill 4 mounting holes and hole-saw a 2.25" center hole and be done. This keeps me from having to deal with the 1.5" critical distance. A 1.5" thick x 3" wide x 10" long aluminum plat was $29. That gives me enough material to screw up twice. haha.
Running total: $1329 (car,pistons/rings,kmember,engine mounts,pulley,aluminum plate)
