Is the emergency brake completely disengaged? Weird question but those drum in hat ebrakes can make some headaches - might be worth dropping the 8.8 cover for a look see at the gears, spiders, and bearings.

One of the back rotors has groves in it. It has knocked the rust off already.

Pretty sure its the rear pulled the brakes and its still loud. So when I put the trans back together and the noise is still there I guess I will turn to the rear. I could get a used rear for 150-200 or I could try to rebuild it.

Pulled the axles out to try to determine if it was the center or an axle bearing. It might have been a tad softer but its center is making noise. Time to look for a new rear.

I am doing a good job on keeping up the snails pace! I got the carrier bearings off one with a HF separator the other with a 2 jaw puller that came in the slid hammer I used to remove the wheel bearings. Today I used the press at my Father in-law's to press off and on the pinion bearing and both carrier bearings. So the disassembly is done! Now to clean the housing and get it back together and hope the pater is good!
Dan what are you doing on MLKJr weekend? what to paint it?

What do you want pictures of? Clean bearings on oily rear end parts?

I will snap a few when I unbox them. Maybe a few days (I am hoping days not weeks). I can start see the light, it might get out of pro jackstand status before the end of the year!
