Got a couple things done to the car today.

First I managed to get the rear of the car down a little lower. Didn't measure it before/after, but I think it dropped it down an inch - maybe an inch and a half. The car had stock springs, but the were clocked wrong (towards passenger side tire), and the iso's looked new... so I re-clocked the springs towards the DRIVERS side wheel, and tossed the iso's in the trash...

Then I got the speedo working...

Here's a before an after picture...

    And here's a video of the speedo working - 2nd and 3rd gear... f*cking 2:73's

A series of good scores! I don't know what you have in the burgundy car but with that driveline you did well! Did you save the rear from the parts car? Might be a better ratio.

      Have fun

It took about 4 days to strip the parts car and to make the roller a runner - could of done it a lot faster if I didn't paint the engine bay and if I wasn't working by myself the whole time... but it was blast!

Currently I have around $1,100 dollars into the car.... Here's a list of the mods it has:
        Adjustable Upper Control Arms (unknown)
        Lower Control Arms (south side)
        Drive Shaft Loop
        New Shocks
        Drilled Rotors (unsure of brand)
Sub frame Connectors (some beefy home made ones)
        Jacobs Ignition Box
        Jacobs Coil
        Autometer 5" Tach
3 pod Pillar Gauge (with oil, volt, and temp gauges)
        Efan
        Capri 3 spoke Steering Wheel
        Battery relocated to hatch
        CAI
        Mass Air Conversion
        Unknown short equal lengths
        BBK Catted H-pipe
        Flowmasters with turn downs
        A/C Eliminator Pulley
        Short throw shifter
        Adjustable Clutch Cable
        Firewall Adjuster
140 mph speedo (not yet installed)
        GT40 Intake (not yet installed

Paid $800 for the roller, but the car is completely rust few (with exception of a couple small bubbles on the hatch.) The floor pans, shock towers, and all the other common rust problem areas are perfect... like show room condition perfect! I will have to take some pictures next time I have it up in the air.

Love a good budget fox build! Good score on everything. Car still seems to sit a bit high even for stock springs, though.

I pulled the springs out and they were the same length as a set of stock springs that I had (but already gave to my buddy), so I just tossed the iso's in the trash and rotated the pig tail on the springs towards the drivers side tire and figured surely that would do the trick...

I agree it still sits up to high. I was in a big hurry when I was in process of doing the springs and it totally slipped my mind that the spring rate itself may be different... Also, the car has aftermarket control arms, the lowers are non adjustable (south side I believe), and I'm not sure if that might be where I'm getting the extra height or now.

I think I'm going to switch the springs out all the way around. stock 4 cyl springs up front, stock high mileage gt springs in the rear with 1 coil cut off...

If you have SSM lowers and do not have the bracket extensions for the lower rear mount, the back of the car is going to be waaaaaay high.

                  Neat project by the way.

Now that you mention that, I think I remember reading something about that... I'm going to have to check on that when I get home..... I really want to get some nice adjustable lowers - just have to wait until I can find a REALLY good deal.

Is there any way I can get this moved to the 5,000 challenge... I love the idea of it!

Bruab or Chad ... probably Bruab can move it.

I was going to weld up the holes and repaint the engine bay the body color, but I was limited on time and decided that since this is just a budget street car, that it just made more sense to just scuff it and shoot it black...

I love this project! Always nice to see foxes get some love.

I think you'll like that GT-40p head/GT-40 intake/stock cam combo. My car has all that plus some 1.7 rocker arms, and runs pretty well. I am using the FRPP GT-40p shorty headers, I'm not sure who makes longtubes that work with the p heads. You could search around the GT-40p thread on the corral, there might actually useful there once you wade through all the noise.

That parts car was a hell of a score, I've been looking for something like that so I can convert my 91 from an auto to a stick.

I have P heads, on my cars. One has Mac long tubes, the other has dynotech shorties.

I have 90* spark plug wires
