      Oooh, an Auto-leak 4300D!

If you opt for the A/C, I'd skip the OE stuff and proceed directly to a vintage air kit. It's what I'm going to eventually do on my T-bird. I made a go at getting the A/C system up and going and the hoses were just trashed and re-pro ones were nearly the cost of a vintage air system that will be more efficient and have less drag.
      Escaped on a technicality.

If this carby is junk, I will just slap my 950hp (a known good carb) on it to get it up and running good.

huh. I'd go to a hydraulic shop and get lines built? They're just crimped on I think. There's at least one hydraulic place near Armadillo, gotta keep junk at the nearby carbon black plant running.

York style compressor, I've seen hose clamps on working systems work just fine in the past.

First year for the 460 in F series is 1974. V8 engine selections for 1973 were 302, 360 and 390 for 2wd trucks - http://www.fordification.com/library...g2_itemId=3670 I think she's been molested possibly **BTW- STAY AWAY FROM LMC!!!!!!!!** - Nothing but garbage, nice technical drawings though.

Heck it may very well be a '74. They look identical from the outside. I think the sequence number on the door tag starts with an R, so I guess that would seem to indicate a 74 model, but the title says 1973. Whatever, it's 40 years old. The numbers on the truck match the numbers on the title, so I don't really care. The '74 would explain it having electronic ignition though.

Edit. Door tag with an R is a 73. I just can't remember my alphabet.

Says the F250 got a 460 in 1973. It doesn't make a rats butt to me... 73, 74... whatever it takes. It'll still have D3VE's... crappy timing chain may have been replaced already with any luck. Plugs will probably go a long way after the Holley goes on. I have a Torker (old style) that is supposed to be good on trucks, low RPM tug, part throttle response, that sort of thing. The big thing is it takes a billion pounds off of the front end!

Hit me up if you are interested... I'll never use it.

Got to be good at something! With it easier to find 16s its better / cheaper to replace the wheels now. At least that's what you tell Mrs. BBF250

Yeah I don't think I'm going to mess around with the 16.5's. I looked for tires briefly yesterday and did not find squat. For now though, since it is just sitting in the driveway (and will be for a while) I'm not on the hunt for wheels.

The only guys that I know that like 16.5s are the ones that run the 37" hummer take offs

I was hoping you could fill the roofer's dump trailer with all the crap that is left in this thing!!
Why do all old trucks that sit around become dumpsters?!?

When is it going to warm up so you can get to cleaning? Your wife will like it better when it looks "somewhat" respectable!

Buying tires SUCKS!! It used to be one of the fun things of a project for me, but now even CHEAP tires will cost more than the truck...

I've had real good luck with retreads from Treadwright. They have pretty good tires for a good price.

I've had two sets now on my Jeep, then on my truck I drive every day..

                              Justa thought for cheap tires..

                              Great project too!!
