This truck makes me almost wish mine was a 2 wd , been thinking about how much of a pita it would be to slam a 4wd but after I run it through my head I realize how dumb some of my ideas are. ( But I still want to......)

Garage sales are a great place to get old car stereos.... I found the am/fm/8 track that's not "correct" for my 69 mach1 but close enough for me at a garage sale - for $20.... saw a similar one at the ford swap meet, for $150....LOL
I will keep an eye out for you, I seem to have luck with audio stuff. I have more home stereo stuff than I could ever use. There's always something new to learn.

JWS4621 has a line on an older Alpine head unit (and amplifier I believe) that I might be able to score for super cheap.

Lunchtime destruction!
I have to replace the vent line on each fuel tank because they leak fuel when you drive. Since I am lazy and did not want to drop the fuel tanks to get to the hose clamps, I took the easy way out.Last edited by BBR; March 25, 2016, 03:15 PM.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

Not with these rusted bed bolts!
4 holes and 5 minutes with the nibbler is pretty darn easy. I'll screw down a patch for future access when I am done. No biggie.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

Is it a show truck? No.
Does it get it road worthy faster? Yes.
Looks perfect to me!! Form follows function especially on budget stuff. I'm still jealous that you have a bed floor to cut!! Most trucks of that vintage around me you could just bash a hole with a hammer through the swiss cheese.....
I take it its above 32 degrees for the moment? I want to hear that you're getting seat time and fully "bedding in" your cruddy valve a mile at a time!
Could you weld "lips" on the pieces you took out to make a patch that looks close to original?Last edited by andy30thz; February 12, 2014, 01:03 PM.

I could. Or I could go to the wrecking yard and chop out a bigger piece to patch it with.
If I was squirrel, I would get a piece of flat sheetmetal and then bend it to match the factory ribs. hahaLife is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

First you'd have to build a press brake fixture....by welding a few strips of thick steel to something...My fabulous web page

heck if you go to a junkyard and cut a patch out of a bed slightly larger, get a hing and weld it into a neat access panel it would look pretty factoryish. roll on bedliner and no one would know the difference lolHellinor- 2005 Mustang GT-Bolt ons, in need of a turbo
War Wagon- 1966 Bel Air Wagon-355 Crate motor, 700r4, flies pretty good for a brick...
