Flex Seal ftw! haha
If it wasn't so expensive, that might be an option!
I can't wait to get the new floor mat and the seat back in this thing. I like driving it!!!Last edited by BBR; October 31, 2017, 08:18 AM.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

Because of the way this window had to go together, I did not see any way around making a notch in the plexi to slide it over the bar. This leaves a gap that needs to be filled between the bar and the window frame.
Like this:
I probably could have made one cut from the edge to the holes, then heated and bent it out and back like some have suggested elsewhere. But, it took several times on and off to get it to fit so I was afraid it would not fare well after being heated and bent multiple times.
The plan is to make 4 filler panels of flat aluminum (2 insides, 2 outsides), drill a few holes and sandwich the plexi between the inners and outers. This will be as weather proof (or more than!) as the rest of the cab. haha I am not worried about sealing out every single drop of water.
Like this, but prettier because I just quickly made that for demonstrative purposes.

That will be fantastic, now I understand given the close up pictures. Is this a new skunkworks garage in TX? I'm envious of your time in the garage with your boys, Lee is only 7.5 and he's more interested in hammering scrap pieces of wood together, and riding on the 2 seater go kart - I'm thankful he's interested in that.... it keeps him off his I-pad for a while.
I like the aluminum sandwich idea - perhaps you can cut some soft rubber to go between the outside aluminum with a slightly smaller ID than the OD of the bar so you end up with a "flange seal" sort of situation.
Some small stainless button head screws would look super in that application, with nylocks on the inside. There's always something new to learn.

My business acquired some additional warehouse/shop space in our building. It's pretty bare bones though. Really the only difference between this place and my driveway is the the fact that it is inside out of the weather. But, that in and of itself is a big help. This winter, we are planning to make some improvements to make it more "shop like". I am still planning to build a shop in my backyard though.
Lee --> just wait, you're time is coming. Jake didn't really get interested in cars until he got closer to getting his drivers license. Then it was like a light switch. All cars, 24-7-52. hahaLife is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

Judd and I tackled the new floor mat install yesterday. Not as easy as it looks. Haha. Glad he was here to help! By yesterday evening we had it fitted front to rear, and the seat bracket and shifter were both back in. We just need to trim the edges and maybe take a heat gun to make it lay a little better in places.

We just need to trim the sides and then put the seats back in.

I finished up the floor mat and reinstalled the seats. Just in time too, because the radiator in Jake's Jeep decided it was time to start leaking! Actually it had been leaking a tiny bit for quite some time, but when the temp dropped last week it really started puking. So, he gets to drive the pickup this week.

Squeek squeek squeek squeek squeek.
The rear bars squeek on the plexi. A lot! Haha
I drove it around some this weekend. Door bars are not really too difficult to deal with. Truck seems more solid and the interior is much quieter with the floor mat.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

I'm just gonna say, as a hot rodder type guy, the temptation to do an unorthodox engine swap in this thing is a very very very strong temptation..... Haha
