No it does not have the Idle-eze. That was one of the first things I checked for! Nor does it have the Ford kickdown arm, but I'm sure I can work something out.
Not ready for cam thoughts just yet, but I'm not 100% sold on stabbing a flat tappet anything in it. I know some guys have theoretical issues with hyd roller cams in a 385 series engines (Randy Malik), but the though of it killing a cam lobe sure make me want to try one..... at some point.
Weather here is supposed to suck both Saturday and Sunday, and then the rest of the week I will be consumed with pre-Christmas and post-Christmas activities. Does not look like I will have time for much playing, unless it is tolerable outside on Sunday.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

I hear you on the flat tappet! Although....if you're thinking of running a spring heavy enough you're worried about whipping a lobe...there better be a whole lot more going on than a small torque cam in a stock compression smogger 460! We've run ZDDP additive or Valvoline Racing oil for 15,000+ miles with mild comp springs and no issues so far. If you run close a stock spring you shouldn't even have to do that!
But you're right! You've got bigger fish to fry!
Carb+Wheels=ROAD! Oh, and a polish job in there somewhere!
I'm having fun watching your adventure!

Bought some wheels. They are the style I wanted and the price wasn't bad. Shipping was free. Didn't want to buy new, but also didn't want to jack around waiting for the perfect set to come up for sale on craigslist or whatever.
Like these except in 8 lug of course. 16x8's
Now I can stop obsessing about wheels for a while.Last edited by BBR; December 20, 2013, 04:56 PM.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

I had those on my 85 Tbird, but 14" 4 lug. Liked them but I liked I liked the ones I had on my ranger that didn't have the rivets better. Glad you got wheels that means the burn out videos will be coming soon!

Russell I hear you about the rivets. That was actually something I took into consideration. I had a similar set on an 84 ranger I once owned. They were harder to keep clean, but I sure loved the way they looked.
These are 0 offset and if I get it running well enough to actually do a burnout, it will be with the crappy 16.5 tires!!
$432
For a grand total of 1152.50
Now I need to do some stuff that does not cost any money!Last edited by BBR; December 20, 2013, 07:57 PM.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

I would not put to much heat in the 16.5s. Don't want to take out those pretty quarters.
