Back in the 50's Jeep recommended trickling white rice into the carb. to knock out carbon deposits. It isn't hard enough to damage valves and seats but is hard enough to knock out carbon. Realize it will run terrible because it will keep valves from closing and be ready for fire out the carb!

I think my quota of 'fire out the carb' has been met for at least the next 10 years.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

I can't wait to hear about this thing firing on all 8 and finally pulling like it should. I hope you can get the AC working again too, even if it means a modern compressor retrofit - you're in TX - you need AC!There's always something new to learn.

I popped a spring off my other heads, so IF the wind is not blowing ridiculously hard today (like it was yesterday) I might try to swap the valve spring during lunch today.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.
