Being the DIY guy I am, I went ahead and used JBWeld to seal up the bungs. I mixed it up, pulled out a bung, coated the bottom portion, slid it back in, twisted and wiggled it, then installed the set screw. Might have got a little much on them, but I'd rather it be too thick than too thin. Besides, I'm not out to win any beauty contests with this thing. When I checked on them this morning, it seems as if they are solidly fixed and sealed. I feel much better about these than the one's I did for the original Ranger big block project.

Looks like I can use the stock fuel tank straps to mount the fuel cell.

This is about where the turbo will sit. It weights about 60lbs, so it is going to require a sturdy mount!

lordy, that's a fair bit bigger than I thought it was! Dang sure bigger than the one I got a while back which I was thinking was too small (was for an 11 liter diesel, not sure what I was thinking). Bed frame angle iron!Flying south, with a flock of bird dogs.

Somewhere recently I saw a large turbo mounted “engine plate” style. It was centered and up somewhat, and the actual engine was motor plate mounted as well. Looked pretty good.
60# would justify something along those lines for sure, lol.
Keep on truckin!Of all the paths you take in life - make sure a few of them are dirt.

Believe it or not, mounting it with the motor plate has been on my radar. It *might* happen, but it sure complicates the FEAD. Particularly since I hoped to use the efi 460 brackets for the alternator and power steering pump. The latest train of thought is to build a bracket that attaches to the front of the head and then is supported in the rear by an exhaust manifold bolt (or 2). Or even the main engine mount boltLife is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

Took a few minutes today to start trimming the bungs in the ports. One side is trimmed. The air grinder and carbide cutter make fairly quick work of it. A sand roll in the Dremel will be used to finish it up.

Still making small progress. We took a trip to the DFW area and visited Summit Racing while we were there. I picked up all the fittings I needed in order to fully plumb the fuel system. After checking the fittings in my fuel rail, I decided I needed to thread them deeper, so that was yesterday's project. Today I hope to try my hand at making a hose.
The basic layout. Feed the rails though the front, loop out, back to reg and out bottom of reg back to tank.

Holes are cut in the bed for filler and return line clearance and the fuel cell is mounted in the stock location.
Once I mount the hitch, it will all but disappear back under there.

You know, a few minutes with a flap wheel on the die grinder and some paint, and not only would that intake not look JB-Weld'd, but you could make it look like cast iron, just to properly confuse the kibitzers in the pits.
Then again, I'd just run it as is anyway, because it's easier.
