The starting point. this is a 1941 Pontiac Silver Streak, with a straight 8, and manual transmission. Great floors, somewhat decent body, which will be changed dramatically......

ive got the sides and roof measured and marked out with tape and chalk. I've found the highest point on the roof, measured back and fore of the high line 7", then calculated the arc for the correct roof alignment afetr the 14" is removed form th emiddle of the car in the roof and the sides....measure 100 times and cut once...Attached FilesHRPT LH- 09,10,11,12

Seems like it will take on dimensions closer to a Willys coupe with that dicing and splicing. Or is it just a 3 window coupe you're after?Comment

I made my cuts, after making a template to make all cuts down the sides and the floor the same width. The roof on the other hand, required measuring arcs on each side so the front and rear steel would meet at an exact point and not disrupt the lines of the radius on the roof.Attached FilesHRPT LH- 09,10,11,12

After the roof was cut, it was time to slide the two halves together. I left the body on the original frame for the start of the build. it was nice and flat, which made the slide very easy.Attached FilesHRPT LH- 09,10,11,12

You actually have a frame AND a floor in this one? Isn't that cheating?
Can't wait to see how it all comes together. Shortening the frame too, or leaving it the stock wheelbase?Comment

The other side. at this point I intentionally left extra steel on the roof, just in case there was a error in my trig. After the 2 halves were slid together, I was able to trim the excess off the roof radius and begin the welding.Attached FilesHRPT LH- 09,10,11,12

the body at this point is tacked, and I have moved to filling in whats left of the 1/4 window with 16 ga steel, salvaged from the hood of a 90 F150 hood.You can clearly see the roof line is now trimmed and tacked into place. the roof line almost looks factory.Attached FilesHRPT LH- 09,10,11,12

I seem welded most of the body, except where I knew I had to do some body work. The floor is all welded, as is the roof. the sides are about finished, but still need work. I lifted the body the only way I could-using my 3 ton cherry picker with the boom extended. I shortened a 2000 S10 chassis to 104" and set the 41 Pontiac on the S10 chassis.Attached FilesHRPT LH- 09,10,11,12
