I'm looking to find some side work, in the mid-michigan/Lansing area.

Anyone looking for some automotive help/repair/diagnostic services,
contact me by PM, I'll get you my number at home, and work.
For those who don't know, I'm an automotive tech of 27 years, and engine builder
    for nearly as long.

    Thanks
    -Bill.

    Re: Automotive repair

Well shoot... If your on the west coast Im in Calif. and have a shop called Kokomo in Fresno ... Been a Honda car mechanic most of my adult career and specialize in diagnostic repairs (as well as service/repairs etc)

I have an exhaust tubing bender and do exhaust systems on anything, as well as a mandrel bender for roll-bar tubing for bumpers, cages, etc... I use Bend-Tech pro to do 3d modeling before anything is bent, thus saving tube and mistakes.... (Have you priced steel lately??? :o)

I mig or tig weld depending on customer$ preferance...

Sorry for hijacking your thread but this could be a good resourse for members to use. If this bothers you Ill delete my post

Don't tell me none of the Michigan area carjunkie's need
        anything, as far as repairs?
I wouldn't charge too much in labor, and I get the parts at cost,
which is a savings I would pass on to you.

Bring it to me, or I can come to you.
        PM me.....

Too bad you're not in LA. I've been putting off people lately.

I would make the move, but my girlfriend/wife wouldn't.

              Re: Automotive repair

Between my day job, limo driving, and trying to keep my own junk on the road; I've had to tell people to take their cars elsewhere. I need to a rear brake on my Caprice. A wheel cylinder leaked enough to ruin the shoes and then the drum. My buddy Bill needs front brakes on his 73 Monte. Gregg needs me to figure out why his 64 Caddy is vapor locking. I just had to rescue his 76 Eldo off the side of the road on Wednesday. Byron's bugging me about his headlights not opening on 68 Cougar. And, now Carl, just got a parts car to fix his 67 Chevelle that he wrecked. I could use help.

You and your wife are better off in Michigan. Unemployment here is above national average, plus we get taxed so much on top of the high cost of living. I've actually been thinking about moving back to Omaha or Kansas City.

                        Guys -
Those of you outside of Michigan don't know how bad the economy really is. There are entire cities that are nearly completely boarded up - Pontiac and Flint, to name just two. It's really grim. If you need any encouragement to Buy American, go spend a week in MI.

Best of luck, Bill, and I hope it works out for you. Michigan has snowstorms and occasional tornadoes, NC has hurricanes, and CA has ground shaking, fires, and landslides. Take yer choice, I guess. So far, I still like NC better than MI.

                        Dan
