  • Inside scoop on 72 Buick Skylark

My neighbor showed me a car that will be going up for sale soon, a 1972 Buick Skylark with 80K + miles, two owner car.
Driven by a little old lady who can't drive anymore. Original, fairly good shape, with a 350 CID - 2BBL.
Has rust spot at base of rear window, rest of car pretty clean.
Located outside of Cleveland Ohio. PM if you are interested and I will get you the family contact information.

My very first car was a 71 Skylark custom... 350 2bl, Blue with black vinyl top. Keystone Classic wheels... Paid $500 for that car... In 1983... I've wanted a GS ever since... Maybe someday.

            Easily!

Wish my situation was different - I love those cars. This is not the time for me to add to the fleet. I'll bet you could dig up a 455 pretty easily or build the 350 - they're tough and will make power, too.

Also my 2nd car was a 71 Skylark post car. was the car I learn to drive in. got it from my dad for $200. But my 3rd car was a 70 Buick GS 455 Stage 1. unfortunately this one looks to have more rust under the vinyl top. A vinyl top is the worst cause of rust I have ever seen.

Probably some- - being the car has been in the north for years. Guess this granny mostly used her Skylark for church and errands. Neighbor says she only made right hand turns, lol..... I'm sure someone is looking for their next project car.

Depending on how much they want for it and the rust condition of the frame, under the vinyl top and floor pans, I'd grab it! Plenty of parts available for these cars unless it is Buick - specific sheet metal or some of the dash pieces. V8buick.com is a great place to find info and parts for them.

I've enjoyed my 72 Skylark ragtop for the last 2 years. I'm currently saving up for a Ridetech Streetgrip kit. Stay tuned...
