Wow, I never knew that, thanks for the schooling Scott.
A little research shows that the Sunbeam Tiger used Ford's new 164 hp 260 cu in Windsor V8 engine.
      Bet that puppy screamed ...

Bet that thing would be fun with an SHO 3.0L manual motor or the 3.2L with the manual cams in it!

I have a neighbor with a Tiger that now has a healthy 351 under the hood. Wicked little car. He likes to call it the Corvette Killer.

I just happened to see the intro to the show on TV a few days ago. Some show on catch phrases from TV shows. Max drives up in a Sunbeam and it says Tiger right on the quarter.

I know a guy who has a 347 stroked monster in his. He assaults the local track days all over Cali in it.

This is my buddy's Tiger, it was built by Ford engineering. It has a 302 and a 5 speed, Carroll Shelby signed the inside of the trunk. The beast hauls ass.

Andy Rooney...yes, that Andy Rooney has a Sunbean Tiger he bought original back in the day. He's a gearhead. I had occasion to speak with him a couple years ago and we got to talking about cars for a while. Cool guy. Honestly, it's not a Sunday night until I get to see his commentary.

I watched the new "Get Smart" movie on cable the other night and there is a scene in it where he takes the original Maxwell Smart's red Sunbeam out of CONTROL's lobby, but I didn't remember to look for the Tiger badging.

There was also a scene where the original series' Sigfreid, head of KAOS is in the movie.
                  Pretty good movie, I thought.
