  • 1929 Gazelle - $2000

Rumors of my demise by rollover have been greatly exaggerated.

Why does the '29 Gazelle have '72 Beetle taillights?
    Editor-at-Large at...well, here, of course!

"Remy-Z, you've outdone yourself again, I thought a Mirada was the icing on the cake of rodding, but this Imperial is the spread of little 99-cent candy letters spelling out "EAT ME" on top of that cake."

Because that's a 29 Mercedes Gazelle body kit mounted on a Beetle floor-pan. Notice they didn't mention that in the ad...

Oh yeah, that's the car for you. I wouldn't be worried about hack sawing a hole in the dash for your 8-track either!
Just make sure you get all the "reseats"

No dings, no dents, no rust. Aren't those fiberglass?

Yes. The one thing you have to watch out for on those kit cars are where they bolt to the body pan, as there's a tendency for water to seep in there. The pan rusts, and if its bad enough, the fiberglass will break down.
