RARE 1 of 1 diesel

that very Subaru model in the photo was my first influence of Subaru. It was a touring, very thumpy ea81.
a tear down finds flat pistons. flat as can be.
out in the woods of maine in the 80s.. craziest little car ever. All little cars in the 80s were nightmares. A Subaru was a locomotive engine surrounded by tin. Stayed that way for Subaru many years.. buttheads of engineering. good engines, and fun to weld.
the first formula like sound I ever heard was also a Subaru..an engine called an ea82.
