Discs weren't even an option until 68. The sixer and powerglide are pretty typical of these cars. It does already have the 12 bolt rear diff in it. It has new shocks in it as well. The front and rear seat have been recovered as well as the headliner. The door panels aren't original and have been covered in velour.

I could put discs in it. CPP makes a great kit for about $700. It's what I have in the Impala. Very easy to install using the stock drum brake spindles and 68-72 Chevelle calipers, pads and rotors so service parts are easy to get.

Went for a bit of a look through the files, from Car Craft July 2001 pg 85.
The answer is there, sort of, so was it only the six cylinders that didn't get the saw bars?
Do six cylinder Impalas have sway bars?

Wow... Chevy got in the game late on the Disc fronts. Buicks had them available in '67 on all full sized cars except maybe the LeSabre. 4 piston units that are near impossible to maintain anymore, even the rotors aren't readily available.

My 70 Caprice's has factory discs. The rotors are a bit difficult to find. Only two companies still make them. Last time I priced them was $150 each. Every thing is readily available.

I've been thinking about this idea and it sounds pretty cool. I've never built a car for someone in another country before.

It's about a half hour away. I got the owner's phone number, but I don't want to bother him again unless your buddy is really interested. The car is really solid and straight. The only rust I could find were a few pin holes at the base of the rear windshield.
