            I thought they were factory on all GNs, my buddy's 87 Grand National has them

              Some dealers may have put them on but as far as I know only the GNX had the vents

                  I was told by a guy that I know knows the inside scoop that GM was actually going to
                  build these,they even had a prototype that existed for a long time.

                    Takes a bit of work to do since the Elky uses the pre 81/4dr/Malibu front end which has short nose and doors. Its unlikely that any dealer just added on the GNX fender vents since they are cut into the sheetmetal with a coresponding duct on the inside to vent the engine compartment. I personally like the GN Wagon phantoms.

                        im not sure about the gn el camino. but gm did have a prototype in 1979 for a pontiac grand am el camino.

                          Now that's cool...

                          personally I think the Pontiac Grand Prixs were as good looking as a the Regals though I must admit my all time favorite is the Monte Carlo Aero Coupe though I'd totally gut the driveline for a Turbo6 and GNX style 3 link suspension.
