  • accel 300+ (49300)

I put this on ebay, starting bid cheap.
thought someone here may be interested.

minimal use, on a four cylinder.

get it cheap, I snipped the plugs. Never had a chance to gather dust.

Is this comparable to an MSD 6A or 6AL?

it is simpler than that...but it does have a digital something going on in there, a crystal oscillator, some chips.

In a bind, (an extra not in the books) is using the points signal for optical disty, the engines will run. Just no real advance.

this one is incredible on the vacuum advance of any kind.

I had it on the tiny stroke subaru, thought multispark was not worth advertising, but the rpm limiter is useful on any engine.
      big kick, tested it out.

I declared this an old school big block fix, or high compression small block...but works on anything.

I bid on it. I have an MSD6AL running through an MSD Pro-Billet distributor in my 385sbc. That combination really makes that sing well. I'm hoping this would will work similarly with the Pertronix distributor in my 455 Olds.

          it should like it there.
it has been sitting since fall, fresh start on the box should climb right in. I did not go far with it. Looks new.

I remember that about the older cap type boxes, if one made a change too soon, they could act stuck...manual discharge.
This one being digital, probably slap it around all day between different things.

I'll add a note on returns, if you win.

As long as it works I'm good. I trust your word over anyone else I've bought from.

it should work. I remember taking the cover off and peeking inside when it was brand new. It was indeed brand new.
found some diodes, heatsink rectify and the clock to make digital is a hefty one.

              smart gadget.

I found another version called a 49327, not sure what that one does.

I Googled it and found the instructions/owner's manual. It's pretty near the exact wiring diagram of the MSD 6AL on the 385. Now I have to wait...that's the hardest part......anybody else hearing Tom Petty?

that is actually where i got the instructions, even though I have the book.
the book and box is going with it.

I kept the little rubber feet for the 6530, but that is trivial.

I did not pay the 200 something as you might find.. this one was wholesalers box, white with no stickers...just part # sticker and some other jargon.
                  $160 something I think.

this does not advance on its own, needs the vacuum chamber to signal it. That in place is really works.

I think I have some rubber feet left over from an old MSD box. I couldn't find that part number at Jeg's or Summit. Could be that it has been discontinued, makes no difference to me.

I actually used something from an old pc.
I bet I could find them in a pile someplace...
                      I'll look around.

or you can have the msd 6530 ones. I never used them.

if you win the big bid that is.

                      this is exciting isn't it.

I bid more than the beginning ask. You could have put a buy-it-now for three times that and I'd probably grabbed it right away. IIRC the MSD boxes I have/had were all at least $150-$175 each and that was back in '94-'97.

someone still got it for less than half.

the box it shipped in is original, with upc.
so, there's a means to get them rebuilt if time comes.

                          someone did good today.

I do have an accel coil with fins, may as well put that out there too.
