  • HEI wont fire....

Im trying to get dads 70' Chevelle fired up and the thing will not fire. I set the motor to TDC and on the #1 wire. I pulled the old setup out. dropped the new HEI in and it dropped right down, I didnt even have to click it over. Its an 85 series mallory HEI. Ive got 12V On ignition to Battery + {not the stock resistor wire} and ive got a good ground to the ground tab. Theres a coil- but im under the assumption that dosent need to be hooked up because its for a tach. I cant measure whats coming out of the coil because my meter wont measure 38000 DC. WTF any suggestions? I cant even get a sputter out of it.......its got to be somthing stupid

the module most likely bit it. That's the little electronic doo-hickey under the rotor. They either work or quit and no spark.

Make sure your 12v power wire doesnt shut the power off when you turn it over (start posistion).
