I don't remember what year that was, but if it's got forged pistons and the GT40p top end, it's crying for nitrous.
I wouldn't mind a Volvo 4 cylinder in a Fox if it would do this.
seems like it was a 93 so it might not have forged pistons, but my motor did not either. There is a good chance this thing will be stone stock on the first drive. I am more worried breaking the beams at this point than breaking records!
I had a N20 kit for years never put in on the car sold it, if / when I go power adder it will be turbo.
it had new bearings put in it... I'll buy the acids / moisture for the pitting, but the mains are ugly. Alignment seems plausible but damn those are ugly like they got tight and galled.
I'll ask it. Look in your build journal and what was the clearance when you measured it putting it back together?
I'm messing with you. You've got a solution on the way. If I were putting it in my DD, I would consider a line bore for the new 3.25 crank that went back in there... and I know, you don't have to say it, mine would never get finished.
I measure clearances, just with plastigage. you can get it for 4.45 at advance auto parts. Just cut the paper with the gauge in it and dont stretch it trying to tear it.
Don't get me wrong I love my P heads but unless it's for a class race or bragging rights paying someone machine and port new valves springs. Just buy aftermarket heads. That article is great wonder how it would do without the port work?
The capri went 103 mph I never weighed it assume 3200 that would be ~270 rwhp ÷.85 = 318 flywheel thats between there test one and two.....
I've wondered if the hyper-pathetic pistons they put in the Explorer were worth a couple of hp. They don't have as big a dish / relief and they use a small metric ring (low drag) ring package. I never did weigh them.
