2003 Mercury Sable HVAC question.

My wife's' 03 Sable was blowing hot air, even with the Automatic climate control set at 60 degrees.

I was able to find on line the procedure to do a remote climate control (RCC) module self-test. The self test revealed an code '25', which is a blend door actuator fault. My neighbor and I removed the Blend door actuator and moved the door arm to so a only cold air would come through. This did get cold air to come through the vents. So I know the AC system is fully charged and functioning. I bought a new blend door actuator from the Ford Dealership. Plugged in the new actuator and ran a self test again and this time the test returned a '888', no faults found. Put the actuator back in the car but still no movement on the door. Since we can reach in and move the door by hand it is not bound up.

Could the RCC be bad?

Any one have any idea what a price for an RCC would be?

i did one at work the other day on a buick you had to make sure the motor and all the doors were in the middle of there movement or it would nt move as it would bind
\off the top of my head i can not remember what the sable ones look like

never run the actuator unless they are attached to the door - they can over travel and not return

Ok it is not the RCC. I needed to clear the RCC code of the bad blower door actuator, have to hit the front defrost button after the test. Now the new one moves as it should.

the door is stuck thats what took the last motor out maybe ???

We could move the door easily by hand.
