  • 12 bolt identification

I bought a 55 chevy a few years back that had a 12 bolt in it. I have mini-tubbed it and moved the leaf springs into the frame to make room for some bigger tires. I need to get a narrower rear end now and am thinking about a 9" for it. My question is I am wondering what this came out of. The code stamped on the passenger side tube is BT02216E. The 6 at the end could be a G, I'm not sure. axle flange to axle flange is 55". I am thinking about putting this in my 79 Z28 if possible, can anyone decipher this for me and give me an opinion on if it will work? The leaf spring mounts are not welded on, so that will not be an issue. Thanks, Mike

if it's close to 55" flange to flange your good to go..
    might need different ofset wheels(backspacing)
