I've heard good things about Lizard Skin.

On the low end, Lowe's Peel and Seal roofing material is very similar to Dynamat type materials and other asphalt based deadeners.

I used the Peel-n-Seal stuff from Menards on the inside of the doors on a 2006 Chevy Express passenger van. I already had the panels off putting new speakers in, and thought it couldn't hurt any.

Made a big difference. Completely took the "tinny" ring out of those large panels. Much quieter going down the road as well.

I just covered the center area of the large panels. Wasn't going for total coverage, just adding some mass.

Would have added it to the inside of the front fenders if they were more accessible. With the doors done you could hear those fenders "pinging" somewhat.

What I used STRONGLY resembles that NOICO stuff your wife found. Bet its really the same only with a foil backing instead of a vinyl backing. Mine came in a 20' x 8" roll for $15

Of all the paths you take in life - make sure a few of them are dirt.
