  • what converter to use??????

Getting ready for my 406 engine install.
I got a TCI breakaway torque converter in the car nowhooked up to a TH350
    gives me 2400 flash stall
works great with my 383 and still takes off like a scalded dog.
Now I also have a TCI street fighter torque converter with advertized 3000 flash stall.
Now with my 406 should i just stay with the breakaway torque converter or step up to the streetfighter?
I dont drag the car but do like to play around and the cam starts making power and torque around 2200 rpm.
which would you chose and why?
    cam specs
    Chevy 262-400 cid Hydraulic camshaft, 2200-5200 RPM Range, 290 intake/290 exhaust Adv Dur, Duration @.050 222 intake/222 exhaust, Valve Lift .447 intake/.447 exhaust, Lobe C/L 114.

    Re: what converter to use??????

A 406 is going to have just that much MORE bottom/mid range...expanding your 2400 (now) into, probably, 26-2800 stall.
I have run both the converters you mention in various 355/377/383/400+ combinations.
Stay with the 11"...I think its advertised for 1800-2200. You're going to have enough problems with street traction with the tighter converter...no point in exagerating the problem with a 400's torque, and THEN more converter to boot. BTW, if I were you, I'd think of adding a LOT more cam. The cam you've got looks good for a 355 or a kinda hot 327. Its got some good duration (is that a Lunati Voodoo? or similar?), but the lift is kinda low.
Maybe wake it up with some 1.6 rockers?
