Hey Indy! Th350 tries to downshift on lefthand turns

So my trucks been doing this weird thing on left hand curves... intermittently, it tries to downshift from third to 2nd.

If I top off the fluid, it does it less often.... but it drips (more like bleeds) if I do that, and I'm not sure if the right dipstick length is in there anyway.

I crawled under there, and saw that nobody ever ran a vacuum line down to the tranny modulator. It's just got a rubber tube elbow goin to nowhere.

So I bought a new modulator for $12, and some vacuum line....

Is this going to cure it?

Or will the sudden addition of an actually functioning modulator cause my tranny to keel over, puke and die?

Low fluid level would cause the trans to neutral in turns, not really downshift. And it needs the vacuum line hooked up. Without it, it should have been shifting extremely late and hard.
Full mark on the stick should be even with pan gasket level.
You should be ok with connecting modulator back up.
