get back to me on the cost of the drum for a 200r4, add an input shaft for extra giggles. I'm into the 4L80e $800 with the MS controller and wiring harness.
Doing it all wrong since 1966

Did you happen to see the first sentence in my very first reply? The adapter plate for 35.00 is cool.

started looking for Clutch turbos after reading this stuff. Wondering if anyone is utilizing the th400 design of the 4L80 trans and eliminating the converters on these to pick up the overdrive. Seems like all advancement in torque converters have pretty much shut these down, but that would be interesting since everyone wants him to run a manual. Just the th400 with the clutch were no problem holding up behind fuel or blown alky motors screaming 1500 horsepower.

Sounds like something I would like to build, just happen to have the spare 4L80 here.

A 4 speed sure would be nice. Supposedly they have good torque converters that get good mileage on the t350 nowadays

as i said before my personal and professional opinion
is that only either a th350 or th400 will live behind a 455--
and that th350 better be built to the hilt or it will die too.

if you MUST have o/d, gearvendors.

other than a 4spd stick or big buck aftermarket like
jericho, liberty bell, lenco, etc., you will just be spending
money to do it twice plus downtime/hassle of dealing
            with it twice.

a well built th200-4r may live ( maybe...) but even a
big dollar level III th700r4 / 4l60e is just on borrowed time.
dont drink that koolaid, believe me.

your car, your money, but i "BTDTGT"--
been there, done that, got tshirt-- and would hate to see
you go through the same misery and expense.
