    Thanks! Just to make sure, does the crank stick out .205" from the block face, or is it recessed .205 into the block.

    lemme grab a caliper, or find a caliper, I got one on a stand now.


    getting between .7118 to .7215 as I rotate the crank around measuring at the same point when it clears, so guessing my face is somewhat off. It was .205 between the back of the crank face to the rear of the block consistently.

    Should get you in the ballpark.

    I do, but it's at my old house, and I'm at the new one.

    The small block and big block are the same, also the same as the four and six engines. Although the crank flange changed when they went to a one piece seal, 1986 on small blocks, early 90s on big blocks, I think.

    Hi, does anyone have a BBC laying around who could measure the distance from the rear of the block (the face that the bellhousing bolts to) to the rear flange of the crankshaft (the surface that the flywheel bolts to? I'm working on designing a custom crank for a Lincoln 337, but it is going to have chevy stuff on the front and back. Thanks, Joel
