Is there a spec/recommendation/formula for determining the optimal distance between the radiator and condenser?

I was kind of thinking it would be best to minimize the gap between the radiator and condenser to prevent the airflow from delaminating between the two, otherwise, there could be engine cooling issues!! just have to remember that the condenser will increase the air temperature before it enters the radiator...

optimal? I've always used the "no air escapes" method between radiators. Thus it's not really distance but that there is sufficient air flow that goes through, not around, the radiator.
