Re: Exhaust tubing: "Cheating the bend"

In the last picture, I thought the tube coming from the right of the picture was straight. I see it is also an elbow. Either way it could be expanded to cheat the bend, if I understand what you are doing.

I don't think the 15 degree offset would make much, if any, difference at all.... however, you can test it - get a anemometer, it can tell you how much restriction you have in your airflow.... tonight I'll take a picture of mine (presuming I remember where it's at)...... presuming you don't have one - I know, you do ;) - but for those who don't... hit up your local HVAC specialist and ask them to borrow their machine used for balancing A/C or heating duct systems.

A new tool, cool. The other alternative is oval tuning and bends like those from Dr. Gas. I used their frame clearance tubes on my exhaust going form round to oval at the pinch back to round with consistent area at all points.

We discussed that and really determined that it would take up more room trying to do it that way with the frame passunder. I already have 3in oval for the over the axle pipe. At this point 'm going to play with trimming it back and seeing how it fits while still trying to keep it up and out of the way. With the car on jackstands its easier to see it and after I get it down I'm really tempted to paint it high temp black to hide it more.
