I have a very nasty picture of billet core with poor heat treat due to a wide LSA being ground on a narrow LSA blank. The wheel actually mushroomed out the metal creating a groove in the closing flank .125 deep.
I know its more money but I'd steer clear of cast core rollers with your valve train mass and the springs necessary to keep it check.
