  • Acura turbo install

Hoping someone on the board has installed a turbo on a Acura RSX and can
offer some advice. The exhaust manifold is installed and ready for the turbo
(Greddy) to bolt to the manifold but the power steering hose is in the way. My
first thought was to bend the steel part of the hose assembly except from
experience, steel tubing (around 1/4") doesn't like to bend - likes to kink.
Anyone have experience with this installation and point my in the right
direction. A new hose assembly is about $266.
    Thanks,

Use a tubing bender, might help keep it from kinking. Get a hose from a junkyard to practice on if you're not sure.

I've found that you can often skip the bender and just wind it around something round like a piece of pipe - this also prevents kinking.

Yep, that works. My neighbor uses water pipes and the poles for the laundry lines for a tubing bender.

          A tubing bender works too.

Thanks for the replies, what I ended up doing is
grabbing a hold of it and bending - think I was
making too much of this simple operation.
              thanks to all,

Tubing benders are great for small radius bends. I use an old water pump pulley for bending tubing on a larger radius. This is especially helpful when following the countours of a frame rail from the fuel cell to the engine bay.
